Job Summary

The Director, Capital Campaign will have responsibility for implementing and completing multiple phases of 92Y’s multi-million capital campaign to support the ongoing redevelopment of 92Y’s facilities and grow the 92Y endowment. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer and working closely with the CEO, President, other senior leaders and members of 92Y’s Board of Directors, the Director will drive the development of the campaign’s strategy and then execute a broad-based fundraising plan targeting individuals, corporations and foundations to support the initiative.  It is anticipated that this Campaign will be ongoing over multiple years as each phase of renovations is implemented.

Experience, Education, & Skills Desired

  • Bachelor’s degree, with Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of successful fundraising experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the arts/culture, community and/or Jewish sectors, and with a focus on Capital Campaigns.
  • Proven track record of successfully securing major gifts at the six and seven figure level.
  • Experience leading and directing capital campaigns with the ability to oversee and control campaign budget.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills, with the capability of developing effective and collegial relationships with peers, senior leaders and Board Members.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and execute responsibilities in the face of conflicting priorities.
  • Experience in committee development and management, working with high-net worth individuals.
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards with the ability to act with discretion, self-assurance and diplomacy.
  • Sound judgment in maintaining strictest of confidentiality of donor information.
  • Willingness and desire to attend evening/weekend programming activities in order to cultivate/steward key donors and prospects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and fundraising software, preferably Tessitura.

  • Job Responsibilities Include
  • Hold primary responsibility for meeting or exceeding the multi-million-dollar fundraising goals for the sequential phases of 92Y’s Capital Campaign.
  • Working closely with the Chief Development officer, devise and implement a multifaceted capital campaign that will support the restoration and redevelopment project of 92Y’s building, managing all stages of the campaign from pre-public launch through completion of each sequential phase of the campaign.
  • Establish campaign’s solicitation priorities, manage prospect lists, prospect research and prospect tracking.
  • Prepare and provide campaign collateral for solicitations providing guidance and coaching when necessary, including being present during solicitations when required.
  • Staff and manage the Capital Campaign Committee.
  • Work collaboratively with the development team to cultivate identified individuals and institutional prospects in order to complete solicitations and/or prepare and submit grant proposals.
  • Devise and direct cultivation and recognition events ensuring donor acknowledgement, stewardship and, as appropriate, public recognition.
  • Develop and execute targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies, including meeting requests, meeting follow up and preparation of proposals.
  • Manage Capital Campaign budget tracking and reporting both expenditure and contributed revenue.
  • Work collaboratively with Marketing to drive the development of the campaign's communications and collateral materials, including print, web and social media platforms.
  • Direct the process for ensuring all related prospect and donor information is recorded and tracked, and prepare presentations for the Executive Leadership and Board of Directors evaluating progress towards goals.
  • Manage all campaign gift correspondence, including timely acknowledgments, pledge payment reminders, pledge agreements and preparing and submitting reports to donors and those required by granting foundations and institutions.
  • Oversee process for gift recognition and proper implementation of naming opportunities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
